Colombia May Seek League Membership If New World System Formed

Colombia indicated it would be among the first to apply for membership in a new society of nations if Harding creates one. Six Escape As Launch Burns Off Detroit Coast

Six men including Pheps Newberry son of Senator Truman H. Newberry and several Detroit business leaders narrowly escaped death when the 40 foot launch Kismet owned by F Walter Guibert burned to the waterline off Grease Point Lake St Clair three miles from Detroit. After a three hour battle against heavy seas the party reached the Greese Point Club home in a small rowboat. Guibert who was burned about the legs is recovering in hospital.
