Counsel for Obenchain Investigated by Los Angeles Bar

The Los Angeles County Bar Association grievance committee is to meet at noon to probe Chicago attorney Charles E. Erbstein in the Obenchain case linked to Belton Kennedy's murder. Judge Sidney N. Reeve referred the charges, weighing Erbstein’s bar status, court eligibility in California, and his moral character. Depositions will be taken in Chicago by telegraph to speed the inquiry. Mail Clerk and Guard Shot to Death at Ferry Station Post Office

San Francisco postal workers faced a deadly raid as Frank B. Adams, a mail clerk and guard, was killed by a masked bandit at the ferry post office. Two colleagues confronted the intruder. Priest Belknap Shot Dead in Lead on Poor Man Gulch Road

Father A B Belknap parish priest at St Patrick's church in Lead South Dakota was lured from his home and shot three times on a road known as poor man gulch. His body lay face down as bloodhounds were requested from Nebraska. The murder bears resemblance to a Cal murder and the motive is unknown.

Jewelry and Auto Stolen in Los Angeles Heist

Jewelry valued at 40 000 pounds and an automobile were stolen in Los Angeles as Sam Hurwitz a salesman was moving the car between jewelers for an exhibition. Two men jumped into the vehicle and drove off after Hurwitz left the car at Sixty fifth street and Moneta avenue.

Trainmens chief admits strike ballot violation

Advertised robbery at Bank of Poplar failed to occur as five men left Liters place in a car toward the bank. A large police force from Ashland and local deputies patrolled Poplar but no bandits arrived by 11:30 am. The town awaited developments as the bank closed at 5:20 pm and the robbers’ fate remained unknown.
