London reports a rebellion has broken out in the seat of the Soviet government with Riga dispatches noting instability. The British demand the release of war prisoners and cessation of Red propaganda while troops resume offensive actions as peace talks continue.
Lithuanians and Poles fought all day and last night ten and a half miles south of Vilna with heavy losses on both sides. The Lithuanian official statement said the fight would be to a finish.
Northwestern Vera Cruz was shaken by a strong earthquake at 10:30 yesterday morning affecting Cordoba Jalap Teocris and surrounding districts. Property damage was reported though no deaths were noted.
Governor James M. Cox toured Indiana denouncing Senator Harding for accusing President Wilson of pushing a treaty without proper reservations. Cox asserted five Hinckcock reservations were accepted despite opposition and urged Harding to apologize for misleading the public.
In Minden Nevada on October 9 the demurrer arguments in the state suit to annul Mary Pickford and Owen Moore's divorce were rescheduled for November 6. Pickford's attorney contends the state is not the proper plaintiff in the action.

The arrest of men linked to an alleged plan to overthrow the government, disclosed by a Wednesday night seizure in Chicago, has prompted requests to federal agents in about a dozen cities. Agents in Los Angeles Denver St Paul Kansas City New York and others are expected to make arrests. Agents were sent to search certain men in Illinois and Indiana.
