Dublin May 25 Sinn Fein radicals set the custom house ablaze at 1 40 pm. Firefighters faced a rapidly spreading blaze with authorities at Dublin Castle stating much of the building’s fate may be sealed. The incident follows heightened political tension and reports of casualties among rescuers.
The National League clash between New York and Pittsburgh at New York-Pittsburgh-New York was postponed due to rain, delaying the game and postponing planned action.
A multi member party including scientists, photographers and rifle experts will sail June 1 aboard the Santa Gasa from New York to Antofagasta, Chile for the Mulford biological exploration of the Amazon headwaters. Theodore Roosevelt’s River of Doubt expedition legacy guides the mission with Dr H H Busby in charge and activities planned on plant life, longevity and sanitation in upcoming districts.

Kansas City May 3 Opning counsel accepted a jury of twelve men to try Dennis Chester charged with the murder of Mie Florence Darton. State prosecutor outlined the case and Chester’s alleged actions while defense challenged witness connections and courtroom access as the trial opened with several relatives excluded.
The government, on a favorable army staff report for the Rhineland, today ordered demobilization of married men and family supporters from the class of 191%.
The big Red Cross meeting scheduled for May 31 is postponed due to the state conference of chapters in Cheyenne on June 7. Walter Davidson, Central division manager in Chicago, will attend the Cheyenne conference with other Central division representatives. Six announcements will be made at the local public meeting.

In Cheyenne on May 25 Mrs. Chris Van Bush of Casper pleaded guilty in U S district court to violation of the prohibition act. Judge Lewis imposed a 200 dollar fine and costs Morris Wellas pleaded guilty to shipping wildlife pests and was fined 100 dollars and costs Ah Sam and Lee Loul admitted illegal opium possession and were fined 25 dollars and costs each Fred A Jackson pleaded guilty to prohibition violations and was fined 25 dollars and costs.
Sire Isabel W Bourdevant, an American, was badly injured when beaten by a burglar in Wyokomama Japan on Monday. Doctors report a successful operation was performed and she is said to be recovering and doing well.
In Detroit Philadelphia defeated with 5 to 2 behind Perry and Perkins while Ehmke and Bassler pitched. In Chicago Washington won 10 to 5 as Mogridge and Charrity led the staff. Cleveland beat Boston 3 to 2 with Uhle and O Neill handling the mound duties. New York defeated St Louis 10 to 7 with Quinn and Schang contributing at the plate and Schocker and Severeid in the field.
Babe Ruth hit his 13th homer of the season in the seventh inning against Shocker, driving in three runs as New York defeated St. Louis in the American League contest.
Thermopolis Wyoming May 25 Mitchell Fat Cowan was bound to district court on a first degree murder charge after William Hastings died from a knife wound inflicted a month earlier. Bail set at 18000. he remains jailed until October term. Hastings was hospitalized as a convalescent before dying from the wound.
In Waco Texas last night Joseph Lumpkin eleven years old shot and killed his father after family reports of attempted abuse. The jury returned a verdict of justifiable homicide according to family members.
The Senate resumed work on the naval bill and adopted an amendment by Senator McLean to authorize spending part of the 190,000,000 for submarine construction from the 1918 building program. Senator Poindexter said the measure would let the department contract possibly all six submarines previously deferred and also authorize an additional naval transport construction.
Denver May 25. Joe Harvey a Detroit garage man aged M years walked eight miles into Denver after a car struck him injuring his right arm in a compound fracture. His voice was noted as unusually loud for his size, a remark from the report.
Wye town mayor Berty Lampltt faces district court after a four day preliminary hearing on charges of murdering Worley Seaton and Harry Feight by blowing up a bunk house. About thirty witnesses testified as authorities linked Lampltt to the explosion and a cache of dynamite, with motives tied to jealousy over Mrs Grave A Lee.
