Oil Men Denounce Obregon Rule in Mexico

In Galveston on March 17 oil producers from the United States condemned the Obregon government for failing to protect American life and property. The Association of Producers of Petroleum in Mexico urged no recognition until assurances of protection are given. About forty men at the conference, including Guy Stevens and Edward L. Doheny, spoke of the Mexican question and refused to discuss conference business.

Costa Rica repudiates 7,000 sq miles oil concession

Costa Rica’s congress voted 24 to 10 on March 7 to repudiate an oil and related concession granted in June 1918 to Armory and Bons. The deal, supposedly to an American company, was largely controlled by British interests, and involved water rights on the Nicoya border to back an interocean canal project.

Oil Lands to Be Auctioned in Salt Creek Field

A Casper report says the Interior Department will auction 3000 to 5000 acres of Salt Creek oil lands around mid April. Bids from oil companies are expected to be lively as proven tracts lie along the east side of the field near Salt Creek and the Naval Reserve boundary. A new Evangel corporation plans operations on Pine Mountain and in Salt Creek with eight sections already permitted.
