Salt Creek field reports production from the Bessemer-Domino well and new tanks under leasing law. Burke’s east half plans to open a well access, while BE T Williams and Blackstone-Salt Creek add rigs. J. Mosher and White Transportation crews support ongoing drilling and casing work.
Colonel Burke Sinclair head of Midwest Refining welfare asks for the return of a German war prisoner coat made from army blanket taken near the fair grounds. He offers reward and asks the finder to bring it to the Exchange Building office. Also notices a wool growers meeting set for June 14 to discuss stock trade and transportation issues in Natrona County with Mr Latvis from the general land office present.
The New York Oil Company has brought in another gasser in the Poison Spider field southwest of Casper. The ninth such well in the field, located on section 12-33-82, encountered gas at about 1400 feet and is expected to meet production levels of nearby wells. The gas will supplement Casper’s supply for commercial use as drilling continues on other nearby fields.
A new bridge has been erected over Dey Creek between Casper and the Lost Soldier field allowing trucks to pass. Westward roads are in fair condition though several bridges in Sweetwater and Fremont counties raise concerns for heavy loads.
Road bulletin notes several routes with mixed conditions due to heavy traffic. Salt Creek Road shows fair to very rough stretches. Yellowstone Highway westward varies from excellent to rough toward Powder River and Waltman, with mixed sections from Waltman to Shoshoni and good from Shoshoni to Lander. Eastward to Cheyenne remains generally good. Roads near Manville and Lusk are reported excellent.
Mra Hazel Chamberlin was granted a divorce from Hugh Chamberlin by Judge Kimball in the district court yesterday afternoon and may resume her maiden name Hazel Wilson. Cruel and inhuman treatment was alleged. The couple wed November 25 1918 and had a second ceremony December 1 1918. They separated January 14 1920. AL Gilmore has gone to Lander.
Estimated receipts today 12500 cattle and 5000 sheep with steady to higher bids. Cattle categories show beef steers and stockers up to 76 cents. top heavy steers at 16.60. calves and cows rising. sheep markets stronger with Idaho lambs around 17.25 and lambs top near 14.50 to 16.50 depending on grade.
