New York February 10 police records said to relate to the alleged suppression by police of evidence in murder cases last year were ordered before the grand jury today by former Governor Charles Whitman who is probing alleged municipal corruption. Fremont rancher acquitted in self defense killing
William Krosper of Crow Creek Fremont County was exonerated by a coroner's jury after three eyewitnesses testified he shot Heidsick in self defense. Heidsick, a sheepherder, had threatened Krosper with a rifle after a dispute over horses at haystacks. He died from a severed artery. Krosper's rifle fire occurred after Heidsick's gun misfired. Convicted murderers run bootlegging drug ring in Seattle
In Seattle police raided a grocery store arresting proprietor Valentine Reynolds and discovering a partnership with escaped convict George Vanvorst. Reynolds, a former Walla Walla inmate pardoned in 1914, admitted selling narcotics and liquor since December. Vanvorst, an escapee from New Westminster penitentiary, was serving a life sentence for murder of a Japanese before his arrest.
