Wyoming Supreme Court Limits Prohibition Search Warrants

The Wyoming Supreme Court upheld a district court ruling in the Nick R case, ruling that possession of intoxicating liquor is not an offense unless the acquisition violated the law. Warrants must name the violator, specify the place to be searched, state the liquor variety, and prove a factual violation rather than belief. Blankets or John Doe warrants are invalid.
