Mob of 2000 women disrupts Jackson-Walker mine No 17 in Pittsburg

In Pittsburg Kansas a mob of about 2000 foreign women and relatives of striking Howat coal miners stormed mine No 17 of the Jackson-Walker company after 5 AM blocking workers from returning to the mine. Cars were halted and mine workers counted among the 125 on duty as cars were forced to stop and curtains ripped from autos. Local officials and state troops faced rising tensions as Kansas mining actions drew broader labor responses.

Americans and Japanese Solve Big Yap Problem Treaty

The United States and Japan publish a Yap treaty detailing disarmament of Yap, Japanese mandate over the Geragan islands, free U S cable access, and Japan’s radio coordination. Wyoming Attorney General W L Walls ruled that Chapter 140 of the 1921 Wyoming Laws Section 16 requiring male applicants for marriage to prove no venereal disease is void for constitutional title defects.
