Mining expert backs Christina lake district prospects near Cascade

Edgar P. Rathbone mining engineer of the Cascade based British Columbia Mercantile & Mining Syndicate conducted weeks of ore sample testing in the Christina lake district. Trains to Start Monday Weekly Schedule Planned

Chief Engineer Tye announces the new railway from Robson to Grand Forks will begin passenger service on Monday the 18th with trains running Robson to Grand Forks Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays and return trips on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays. Connections planned with nearby lines. tickets may need reissue due to partial turnover. inspectors to assess the line next week. A Rossland Nelson business excursion is deferred awaiting rolling stock.

Rumbles From the Rails Reach Beyond Columbia

The track work extends four miles past Columbia with telegraph delays hampering progress. The line is expected to reach Grand Forks next week. Fifteen passengers rode in a box car yesterday and request iron breeches with cushions for future trips. The track layer crossed the Grand Forks bridge last Sunday as Columbia residents supplied workers with a small spread.

Work on the Cascade Dam and Power Plant

Work began on the Cascade Water Power Light Co. dam site after a recent water rise. Foreman Simmons returned from the cart and organized crews while Supt. Anderson awarded D. D. Ferguson a cottage contract near £2000. D. P. Barber secures five miles of pole line clearance from Phoenix with 20 workers and 80 acres to clear, contract above $3,000.
