The Bran don and Golden Crown Mining Co Limited reports for the Golden Crown group in Wellington camp that since April 1897 it has spent $24,000 on the property. Over 450 feet of work has been completed and the railway survey is within 100 feet of the shaft house enabling cheap shipments to the reduction works planned by the CPR at Cascade. The property is described as one of the best in the district.

Stage accident injures Meyers Falle man on steep hillside

Last Saturday near Halls a stage derailed on a three mile climb. Jed Rogers lost control while seeking the brake and five passengers were thrown or jumped free. James Gill of Meyers Falle suffered two broken bones in the left leg and is hospitalized at the Hotel Cascade. Gill’s wife arrived Tuesday to nurse him. others listed include C L Hoffman Spokane bruised and Alfred McMillan Rossland. Gill expected to be confined eight to ten weeks.
