Castle Mountain Heights Explorer Party Climbs Western Slope

J G Simmons John Simpson F E Tebo and the editor scaled Castle mountain last Sunday afternoon. They reached a steep descent to flats by the railway trestle with snow and rubble making more than half the way by sliding. The ascent offers grand views of Christina Lake Kettle River and Grand Forks valley.

Louis Pelkey Returns with a New Eye Piece of glass replaces injured eye

Louis Pelkey former blacksmith at the dam and later at the B C mine Summit Camp visited the Simmons brothers here after traveling to Vancouver for eye treatment. A piece of flying steel pierced his pupil five weeks ago forcing removal of the eye and a glass prosthesis. He traveled back to Summit Camp Monday to resume his B C blacksmith job.

Jay and Ellis of the B. C. Mercantile and Mining syndicate, from Eagle City on the Kettle river north fork, were in Cascade Friday and Saturday and left Sunday morning after visiting the syndicate’s flourishing Cascade branch store.
