Horse Survives 60 Foot Fall From Dam Construction
A horse hitched to a heavy dump cart hauling rock for Cascade Power and Light fell 50 to 60 feet into the river during dam work. The cart shafts broke, freeing the horse, which swam ashore on the opposite bank and returned to duty unharmed. The cart sank and was not recovered.
