Local Social Scene Brightens Winter Week
Bright cold sunny week with Presbyterian services tomorrow. J G Rives traveled to Phoenix Monday and W Bear visited Midway. Mrs McFetridge hosted several ladies Thursday. Laurel Ridge hosted first social since Mrs Stocker’s Spokane return last Saturday with about twenty five guests. Cascade winter gatherings foster neighborly sociability and pleasant evenings.

Mines Advance in Slocan District With New Leases
Work on the Iron Horse group in the Slocan district is to start at once. R C Campbell Johnston of Nelson has leased the Kelpie group, known as the Lakeshore, with five claims. The Fourth of July mine on Goffee Creek, leased by the Vanstone brothers, is also active with ore being moved to the wagon road and a first shipment expected within weeks.
