Bulldog Mountain Tunnel Near Completion On Columbia & Western

The tunnel through Bulldog mountain on the Columbia and Western Railway is nearly ready with clearing and track laying remaining. Messrs Tye and Sullivan walked the 8000 foot tunnel last Saturday. total length with approaches reaches 8700 feet. The line is expected to transfer to Canadian Pacific Railway operations around February 1.

Inspecting Chamberlain group mining dams on McRae creek

Mr Roberts of Roseland will inspect the Chamberlain group dams on McRae creek next Monday. An 18 foot shaft exists and development shows a rich ore deposit of great magnitude. The group, owned by Frank Hutchinson, includes promising prospects at Gold Bug mine with ore assays from 140 to 150 per ton.
