Hill Eyes Canadian Franchise Purchase By Great Northern
A Vancouver correspondent reports December 15 that President Hill of the Great Northern aims to acquire the Vancouver Victoria Eastern railway franchise. The line would run Vancouver to the Columbia River near Robson with ties to Victoria and a potential link via Spokane Falls & Northern to Cassade City and Grand Forks. If the deal closes, Hill would push expansion into the Boundary country and connect Pacific coast routes to Montreal, with McKenzie & Mann and other financiers involved.
