Rushville and surrounding towns report social visits and arrivals from Cincinnati and Greenfield. Newsom, Newsom family, Hall family, and others travel, attend services, and host friends. church work proceeds with Rev. Fletcher’s engagement and new Carthage church plans. A new Greenfield and Maxwell railroad venture forms, postmaster changes, and a teachers’ institute session in Carthage outlines programs and prompts parental involvement.
Westland hosts the first school institute of the year at the Westland schoolhouse last Friday. Rally day for the Westland Sunday school occurred Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Mary Wilson and daughter Mrs Will Hawkins visited relatives in Dunn. Local families hosted guests from Henry county and Carthage. School resumes Monday with Prof Geise of Fayette county as principal and Barclay White as assistant. other teachers listed with assignments.
J. W. Beck, the Knightstown photographer, will send a representative to Carthage soon to display the latest work of art. Special inducements will be offered to visitors.
