The Woman's Literary Circle hosted an April 24 gathering at Mrs Sallie G. Stager's home. Pink and white decorations and rose favors set a festive mood as guests wrote four line poems. Mrs Lizzie P. Hill announced the prize winner, Mrs Stager, who received a bundle of Carthage Indiana poets' works. Music, singing, and humorous songs accompanied a dessert of ice cream, angel food cake, tea sticks, and coffee.
The town board invites every citizen to meet at Newsoms Hall this Friday at 8 PM to discuss CU G Clark's proposal to furnish electric lights and water works. The meeting aims to gauge public expression before action, per E T Corvin secretary treasurer.
