Good Times Club Hosts Sipe Home Evening

The Good Times Club enjoyed hospitality at Dr and Mrs Id A Sipe last Tuesday evening with a merry time into the early hours. A laughable moment came when a man and woman chewed a string attached to a candy hunk to claim it first. Refreshments included excellent cake, coffee and ice cream. Hopkins shoots at Charlea Cook in mill dispute

William Hopkins paid 25.30 for four close range shots at Charlea Cook, a colored man, after a wrestling altercation at the stave mill. Cook denied throwing a crowbar. Hopkins was jailed in Ruebville, with charges reduced to assault and carrying concealed weapons. fines and costs totaled 25.30.

Earlham Wins Intercollegiate Debate Title Again

Earlham defeated Indiana University for the third time in the intercollegiate debate and retains the state championship won four years ago from DePauw. The affirmative supported subsidizing the merchant marine with Earlham’s Bryan Robbins Luther Feeger Albert Copeland. Judges included John L. Griffiths presiding and John Hadley Prof George Knight Merrill Moores.
