Earnest Carter Couple Passes in Service to Ministry
Hattie M Earnest born May 5 1871 Rush County Indiana daughter of Ira D and Sarah A. Earnest married W R Carter in 1889 after living on Peters Reddick farm and later in Alexandria Indiana. The couple devoted themselves to Christian ministry until June 12 1899 when Hattie died at age 28 1 7. She was buried beside her mother and sister in Barrett Cemetery Knightstown area after body shipped from Lawrenceville Illinois.

Indiana Life agent charged with forgery in Rushville case
W E Miller a district agent for Indiana Life Assurance Co stands charged with forgery after allegedly swindling Edwin Payne and others in Rushville via forged notes. He was jailed after failing to post bond. crimes total about $3000 with forged names and related debts. Miller recently married a woman from Fostoria Ohio and she remains supportive as the case unfolds.

Trial in Carthage Court Over Rowdyism Ends Without Evidence
His Honor's Court with Earl Finney and others was held in Squire Benjamin's court on June 20. Thos P Weaver was the complainant in a charge of provoking to assault. A large crowd gathered at the town hall to hear the proceedings before the venerable Court dismissed the defendants for lack of evidence after hearing both sides and offering advice against rowdyism.
