Children’s Day Observed by Friends Sunday School

Last Sunday evening Friends Sunday school filled the church for Children’s Day with an all ages program. The center stage cross was flowered and ribbons adorned the arms. Sixty children performed in choruses drills and singing. The Norris family quartet and other groups drew hearty applause.

R H Till Co to Add Modern Dry Goods Block

R H Till Co began construction on a new addition to the brick business block bought from Johnson Bros last spring. The firm also acquired Ed Dunn’s 18 by 60 lot on Mill Street, planning an L shaped building extending to Mill Street with a Mill Street wing stocked with carpets drapery and related goods. Upon completion the firm will run a modern dry goods house with plate glass fronts on Main and Mill. Kirkwood moves to Hubbard building as Ed J Dunn prepares two story block. Frank Porter buys out Lewis Weingart’s grocery and takes possession. Mrs Alice White rents the old Star restaurant to Cyrus Rhoades as it’s refitted into a bowling alley.
