Married at Morris sisters farm by Rev Winslow

Allen Moore and Clara Russel were married last Sunday evening at their future home on the Morris sisters farm west of town. A merry company gathered to bless the union with many presents. The Morris sisters plan to repaint the house in spring and beautify the premises.

Stolen cattle spotted near Arlington and Knightstown

On Thursday morning the Stanley brothers Lew and Mort reported two fine short horn cattle missing from their field. They suspected theft due to closed gates and intact fences. Sunday word from Arlington identified Herb Holland and Nole Beckner seen in a corn field east of Arlington butchering cattle.

Cattle Killing Leads to Arrests and Bond in Rush County

The boys identified the sire title of one cattle and ordered the arrest of Holland at Knightstown. Deputy Bass took him to Rushville jail Monday morning, with Beckner arriving earlier. A preliminary hearing occurred Monday, bonds set at 300 each, trial deferred to February court. John Newman of Rushville helped butcher and sold meat, now jailed as prosecuting witness on a $50 bond.

Farmer's Institute and Corp Show at Rushville event

The Farmers Institute and corp show will be held at Rushville January 29 and 30 with four corn classes white yellow mixed and any color yielding the ghost percentage of grain. Pop corn will also receive premiums. First place in each class pays 10 dollars second place one unspecified third 3 dollars fourth 2 dollars fifth 1 dollar. The institute will have four sessions including ladies' work and discussions on beef swine and the dairy.
