The library board proceeds with plans for a new library building and seeks subscriptions to finish funding. Architect W S Kaufman of Richmond prepared plans while the town moves the feed exchange site building, bought from A W Newsom for 300 dollars, to serve as town hall.

Plans and specs are on file at Bank of Carthage and at architect W B Kaufman Richmond Indiana. Bids require 25 percent bond. The Board may reject all bids. Mrs Walter B Hill hosts Thimble Club at home Tuesday August 27 from 2 to 5 PM with Mrs Jacob F Campbell Mrs Edward Adkins and Mrs Samuel O McCarty present. Members enjoyed a social afternoon with prizes won by Mrs Chadwick and Mrs Nixon. Neapolitan cream angel food cake and punch served.

Sam L Newsom reports that the U S Marsh Co druggists have sold their Carthage store to J H McCarty and Son, the fourth move in this branch in a short period. The pattern shows transfers from Dest to McCarty to Carthage Drug Co. to O S Marsh to McCarty again.
Messrs Noxon and McFatridge lack essential forms to lease the southeast territory for oil prospecting. The delay’s cause is unclear. If oil is found land values would balloon, yet the public won’t know until someone acts. They stand to gain greatly with no loss from leasing. Why not proceed with the write up and allow work to continue.
Our people have waited long for rural free delivery routes and Congressman Watson has pressed for establishment on the promised date. Rathbone the district inspector will visit soon for final arrangements. Although the field work took longer than expected, the waiting time is nearly over. Be patient, Uncle Sam's farm is a big field and all cannot be served at once.

George Kriner, while fishing with his wife near the old Commercial Mills on the Llue River, collapsed and died at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Coroner Wooden ruled heart failure. Funeral arrangements at Knights’ ow a6 2 yp. 2 today.
It is likely J. F. Gilbreth will occupy the Hubbard block with a new music store as soon as vacated by Mr. Kirkwood, signaling a planned business move and storefront reopening in the district.
The East St Christian church announces an ice cream festival for tomorrow evening inviting everyone to attend.
A non sectarian basket meeting led by evangelist Martha Vines will convene Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Riverside church grove. Miss Jessie L. Newlin, a reading instructor, impressed teachers with her approach to teaching reading expression. Prof. E. P. Trueblood of Earlham College spoke at Rushville Institute notes.
