A popular rail excursion sails Tuesday August 19 offering trips to Niagara Falls Toronto Cot Thousand Islands and Montreal with differing round trip prices. Regular train 31 from Rushville connects to a special Anderson bound service. Return trip leaves Niagara Falls 9:00 PM August 21 with a twelve day ticket validity and round trip fare set at 6.50.
The ladies of Christaan Church will hold a market next Saturday beginning at 9 o'clock a.m. Proceeds support church programs and community outreach. Local shoppers are invited to attend at the church hall and nearby booths.

O F Bowman of Thorsby Alabama arrived by noon train to finish preparations for a canning factory that should be ready to pack by next Saturday, though tomato supply may be insufficient. He learned his partner, Mr Premer, is ill with typhoid at Blaine Indiana and will travel back soon. Nearby residents may use the Henry Henley Public Library by paying a small annual fee.
At a recent meeting the county chairmen selected Col Ed Thayer of Greenfield to succeed Miles K Motlit as district chair man. Motlit resigned to become postmaster at Connersville. Thayer is noted for a Roosevelt like vigor and faces opposition from critics.
The Carthage Musical Club presented a Bach program on Monday evening featuring Miss Bertha Henley. The vocal and instrumental selections from the great composer showed the group prospering. The next program, a miscellany, will be with Miss Stella M. Gause on August 25.
