Mr Bowman reports two new factories in Thorsby and Columbiana Alabama, with 1000 acres of tomato contracts, 19090 bushels of peaches, and 400000 cans of blackberries. Peach packing starts May 15, tomatoes June 1, through Dec 1. Northern markets, notably Indianapolis, have purchased all output. Thorsby shows bright prospects for a town of 1500, eight years old, with northern workers and strong Republican presence.
