A hurried mixed team from the Greys and the High School played at the Soldiers Home. The diamond was rough and carpet strips marked bases. Hank Davis delivered a key hit in the 11th inning to win 2 to 0 after a pitching duel. Brooks held Carthage to two hits. Miller allowed four. Umpires Coffin and the Home official judged the game clean. Tonight Spiceland faces Carthage High School at 8. Admission 15 cents, 10 for pupils. Roy Billman was later sidelined by a head injury from a line drive.

Sexton is Acquitted in Rushville Building Case
The Gates Sexton embezzlement trial linked to the Equitable Building association at Rushville concluded in Connersville with a not guilty verdict after five ballots. The jurors found Sexton not guilty, but observers expect the association directors to face scrutiny over the funds.
