Nelson Reunion at Greenfield Park Shelter House

Ninety relatives from Carthage and Charlottesville area attended the Nelson reunion at Greenfield park shelter house on Sunday. Blaine Johnson of Rushville was elected president and Mrs. William Robbins of Charlottesville secretary treasurer. Oldest member was J. O. Nelson of Benton Michigan and the youngest was the baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Kuhn. The next reunion will be held the same week at the same place.

Mrs. Cleora Jordan 77 lifelong Posey Township resident died suddenly at home in Arlington Tuesday evening after six years of ill health. She was born December 3 1877 to Samuel O and Casinda Ball. Mill Street restaurant reopens under Nolen family

Dance class registrations set for Carthage community center

Registration for tap, ballet, toe, private and group dance classes will be held at the Carthage Indiana Community Center on Saturday September 3 from 9 to 11 am. Waterfowl Hunting Opens in Indiana This Season

Indiana opens the waterfowl season on October 22 with daily hunting from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour before sunset through December 30. Daily duck limit is four with eight in possession. geese limit five with at most two Canada geese. One wood duck allowed. jacksnipe season runs October 15 to 29.

The Hunt family reunion was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hunt west of Carthage with a cooperative dinner. Eighty eight relatives and descendants attended. The Cupp Brothers Quartet of Shirley provided entertainment during the gathering.

Carthage Band Competes At 1955 Indiana State Fair

Local band from Carthage participated in a school band contest during the fair. It was 69th in line, allotted about two minutes of marching and playing before judges. Criteria included appearance marching playing and general effect with scores for each category.
