Federated Clubs Hold Convention at Rushville Church
The 39th annual Sixth District Federation of Women's Clubs convention met October 15, 1946 at Rushville Christian Church. Highlights included greetings by Mrs. Fred Gardner and Mrs. Isadore Kirk, district president Mrs. Bayard Baker’s address on youth and community objectives, and reports from officers and department heads. The meeting endorsed Candidate Oscar Algren for second vice president of the National Federation, reviewed blind and conservation programs, and closed with memorials, music, and the Mispah benediction.

Funeral services for Orville Pope in Mt. Lebanon
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Mt. Lebanon church for Orville Pope former Hancock County treasurer and former Greenfield high school teacher. Pope died Sunday evening in a nursing home at Fountain tiown Burial in Mt. Lebanon cemetery. Pope was cousin of Mrs Bernard Dalrymple and Mrs Walter Mann of Carthage.

Funeral services set for 8 o'clock Friday at Wyatt Memorial mortuary. TWO DOWN AND NONE TO GO INJURY AND GIFT REPORT
A freak accident last week injured Phyllis Small and Jerry Ann Moore when a typewriter fell between them as Jerry carried it down the hall. Jerry bruised her undercarriage and the typewriter has been repaired several times by Mr. Stinger and is expected to recover. Verna Hill donated a drawing easel to the first grade, the second such gift for the class.
