Alyde Smith a longtime Spiceland druggist died of a heart attack Saturday. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning with interment in Glencove cemetery Knightstown. Mrs. Smith formerly Lillie Duncan of Carthage is a cousin of Walter J. Phelps. Delmer R. Binford of Indianapolis died Friday evening. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 30 p.m from Shirley Bros Irving Hill Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Park. Mr. Binford was a cousin of Mrs. Harry Bentley.

Donald Moore of Carthage, 23, pled guilty in Connersville Circuit Court to petit larceny for stealing a rifle. He dropped two rifles from a second story window at the American Legion home on September 14, breaking stocks. one barrel missing. Moore received 150 dollars fine plus costs and eight months at the state penal farm. He had been suspended from the Carthage Legion post and used a lapsed card to enter the Legion home.
