The Carthage paper and board plant, closed and in receivership, is acquired by Dixon Board Mills Incorporated, a new Indiana company. The venture, with an investment over a million dollars, plans repairs and reopens soon, focusing on box board and straw paper production for major consumer centers. Key executives include Al Titsworth president, Sellen secretary, and Russell B. Titsworth vice president, all linked to Rushville. The plant will be modernized for high quality boards, with limited current staffing and ongoing straw procurement.
A series of moves spreads through Middletown and nearby towns as families relocate to new homes in Middletown Jamestown and Rittman. Several individuals begin business ventures others visit relatives or plan trips. Also listings advertise desks wood and pool tables for sale and apples with cider from Morris Town.
A. P. Wagoner announces instruction for groups or individuals in band or orchestra music and offers to help save money on instruments.

Dora Speers of the Big Four rail gang near Henderson was injured Tuesday when a metal wedge sliver embedded in her right leg while driving bolts. The sliver was removed Tuesday night at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
