Thanksgiving Union Service Planned at Fletcher Church

The Carthage Federation of Churches announces a Thanksgiving union service on Wednesday November 24 at 7 30 p m at Fletcher M E Church with Rev Walter Morris of Wesleyan Methodist delivering the sermon. Businesses will close all day Thursday except groceries open until 10 a m post office offers two daily mails no rural delivery and the telephone exchange closes 12 to 1 p m.

Mill worker dies in mill accident at Dixon Board Mills

Darwin E. Brooks, 19, an employee at Dixon Board Mills, was killed about 6:15 am Saturday when his right arm was drawn into the rollers on No. 3 board machine. His chest was crushed, but he died within minutes. Survived by father Robert E. Brooks, brothers Edgar and Max, four sisters, and widow Mrs Russell Vera all of this place. Funeral held Monday at Wesleyan Methodist Church, burial in McCray cemetery Wilkinson.

Campbell Leisure wedding unites Dorothy Leisure and Louis Campbell

Miss Dorothy J Leisure and Louis D Campbell were married Thursday evening November 18 at the country home of Mrs Alice Leisure. Rev F W Sumner performed the ceremony with Zelma Schaffer and Mendelssohn music. A four course dinner followed for 130 guests from multiple Indiana cities and Eaton Ohio. The couple plan a Thanksgiving reception in Eaton and will reside with the bride’s mother after December 1.

Community Club Hosts Hi-Y Dinner and Concert

Contemplates Time Change for Two Big Four Trains

The Big Four considers a timetable change to take effect December 10 if approved. Southbound No. 1 would arrive at 7 30 a m instead of 7 52 and carry a Detroit sleeper to Louisville, with No. 2 returning at 9 30 p m. No official word yet.
