Mrs. Ethel Collins stepped on a rock Saturday afternoon between her home and Mrs. Goul Die Kyser’s and fell injuring a bone above the right ankle. She can still move about with crutches.
The Carthage Brotherhood and Sisterhood holds its regular monthly gathering at the Community Center on Monday evening November 16.
Mr and Mrs Leland Hawkins with children Mark and Carol have relocated from Muncie Indiana to Richmond for their future residence this week.
Mrs. Jane Nigh fell Friday afternoon at her daughter Mrs. Paul Edwards residence, breaking her right hip. She was moved to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis and underwent surgery Tuesday morning.
4‑H meeting led by president Jenny Boff at 3 40 p m with 21 members present and 18 98 in treasury. Kathy Smith named new reporter and Kim Tweedy new health and safety leader. Jenny Eoff praised for two years as president. minutes approved and demonstrations planned.
The Carthage Community Center Board will hold a special meeting next Monday night November 16 at 7 30 p.m. to elect four directors. The general public is invited and urged to attend and participate.

The 10th district Indiana Volunteer Firemen's Association holds its next meeting at the Fountaintown Fire Station on Wednesday November 18 at 8 p.m. Joe Tabor of Public Service Co will present a talk and demonstration on closed heart massage and mouth to mouth resuscitation.
The P T O open house at Carthage School will start at 6 30 p m on Tuesday with refreshments from 7 to 8 p m A film will be shown from 8 30 to 9 p m and a School Consolidation meeting by Trustee Robert McKain will follow after 8 30 p m
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Overman of Carthage marked their 67th wedding anniversary at home on Wednesday November 11. The couple have shared many years together and remain active in the local community.
The Carthage Volunteer Fire Department rushed to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Sullivan southwest of Carthage Tuesday afternoon for a trash fire that burned beyond control before firefighters contained it.
Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Logan Nelson included Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Turton and Mr. and Mrs. Mel Eshbaugh of West Carrollton Ohio. Evening visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Max Draper and Mark and Agnes Draper of New Paris.
The Carthage Raiders defeated Southwestern 59 to 57 as Richard Grizzell hit the winning shot with four seconds left. Kit Porter led Carthage with 25 points, Grizzell 19, while Southwestern’s Shutt scored 18 and Barnett 19. The B team lost 31 to 30.
Carthage East Street Christian Church announces Sunday night youth gatherings 6:00 to 7:30 starting this coming Sunday. Four age groups will meet for fun time devotion and youth led projects, followed by a general refreshments assembly.

Mrs. Gene Collier entertained the Walnut Ridge Missionary Society at her Wilkinson home. Mrs. Russell Nigh led the meeting with hymns and scripture. Rev. Don Lullen spoke on Stewardship of Time and Ability. The group voted $25 for the Robert Morris family in Brazil and designated the collection for the Love Fund supporting Annice Carter in Ramallah Palestine.
The Mixers Home Economics Club met last Friday at 1:30 p.m. hosted by Mrs. James Whitfield with Mrs. Robert Zimmerman as co hostess. Leader lessons titled Serving Shortcuts and Health and Safety were presented by Mrs. Whitfield, Mrs. Marvin Johnson, Mrs. Lewis Lafuse, and Mrs. John Munden reporting on the History of Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Marshall visited Sunday with Mrs. Virginia Taylor and her children at Anderson, sharing time with the family during a casual gathering.

Michael released from Henry County Hospital and using crutches.

Keep firearms unloaded until in the field, never point at objects you don’t intend to shoot, and keep the muzzle under control at all times.

Henry Jessup attended a November 1 dinner at James Mosier's in Greenfield along with Jeff Leisure Ethel Posey and Carl Davis. Everett Hawkins visited Ruth Cook over the weekend. Arthur White joined Orville Brown for Sunday dinner.
Henry County Home Demonstration Clubs present the 1964 Thanksgiving and Christmas Idea Exhibit themed Galaxy of Gifts at W. G. Smith Auditorium New Castle November 20 to 22. The event features centerpieces, home made gifts, fancy yeast breads, candy and cookies with a Noahs Ark display for children and Santa Claus visiting Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Demonstrations include Quick Party Refreshments Fancy Yeast Breads and Marzipan Candy with public viewing hours 1 to 9 Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 Sunday no admission charge. Santa rings sleigh bells for family enjoyment.
Carthage Raiders beat Southwestern 57 55 in a tense season opener. Grizzell cooled the late game deficit with a winning toss as Porter’s errant try set up the decisive points. Grizzell led Carthage with 11 second half points. team shooting was close with Carthage 23 of 63 and Southwestern 24 of 65.
Army Pvt. Ronald L. Roland 22 of Carthage Indiana participates with the 1st Infantry Division in Exercise GOLD FIRE I near Fort Leonard Wood Missouri a 16 day field training drill testing aviation support for ground forces. About 20 000 troops take part. Roland stationed at Fort Riley Kansas with Company A 1st Engineer Battalion entered service in 1964.
Twenty one members attended a Monday dinner at the Community Center. Frank Hampton presided while Tom Shields presented the secretary report. After the business session, Rev. Leonard Bucy of the Methodist Church spoke.
The Woman's Society of Christian Service met November 4 at the Methodist Church then visited Esther Hall Home in Indianapolis. Edna Kennedy opened the 1 pm meeting with On Thanksgiving Day. Sixteen members and one guest attended with a tour of the home and refreshments.

Mrs Forrest Moore hosted the Garden Club at her home Tuesday with sixteen members present. Co hostess was Mrs Lo Secretary's report given by Mrs Gouldie Ky ser. Hobby Show dates announced and a Holiday flower arrangement show in Indianapolis led by Mrs Forrest Beck. Roll call response was a Bible quotation about a flower.
