The church announces regular services next Sunday with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. The morning worship at 10:30 will cover the topic Excuse Me and an evening service at 7:30 followed by a short song service. All are welcome.
Next Sabbath May 28 Harry Cooper of the Westland Friends Church will speak at the morning worship. Attendance of young people is encouraged. Vacation Bible School starts Monday for Primary and Kindergarten children. The Intermediate class picnic at Over-Flowing Well was held Monday. The Wesleyan Church lists a Sunday service at 10 30 AM and evening 8 30 PM. The Sabbath school is thriving with room for improvement. A Tuesday prayer meeting at 7 30 PM and Thursday cottage prayer meetings at 7 30 PM are offered. A welcoming note is extended by Pastor Edward Smittee.
The morning sermon titled The Unanswerable Question will be read at 10 30 with special music by The Crawleys and others. After the service the congregation will travel to Hannegan for a pitch in dinner and a young people rally in the afternoon. Evening services are canceled. The Young People's Society meets Tuesday at 7 30 led by Noah Brooks. Christian Helpers meet with Mrs Paul Norris Thursday afternoon assisted by Mrs M F Lovett and Mrs George Hinshaw.
Rushville Indiana Rush Circuit Court to hear the administrator Oren F Veatele June 15 1932 for final settlement. Heirs and interested persons must appear and prove heirship or claims Attest Charles L Newhouse Clerk Henley and Marshall attorneys.
The Colloqual Club met Tuesday with Mrs Roy Copher thirteen members and one guest present. A noon pitch in dinner followed the regular business meeting and a musical program. The afternoon was spent sewing.
Mrs. W P Stevens and Mrs. Ad die Hathaway of Muncie visited Mrs Elizabeth J Hill and Mrs Vern Hill on Wednesday. Elizabeth J Hill returned home with them for an indefinite stay.
Mrs. Jane Gosney suffered a broken hip after a fall on her front steps Saturday evening on East Second street. Callers visiting Sunday included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Catt of Rushville, Mrs. Frank Catt of Arlington, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Portens of Knightstown, and Mrs. Cleve Beher with her daughter Nancy Helen Bartels of Anderson.
Mr and Mrs Donald Stoten hosted a pitch in supper at Farmer s Station attended by Ora Siler and Russell, Harold Ruby, Oren Miller and Sharlee, Roy Herkless and Jo anna Gibson, and others. J M Stone improved after a fall. Several local families visited, attended commencements, and hosted or joined Sunday dinners across Homer and nearby towns.
Francis Collins eight year old son of Mr and Mrs Floyd Collins and Mrs Chester Gahimer celebrated with relatives and friends. An eight cap angel food cake and twenty two candles topped the centerpiece, followed by a two course pitch in dinner for Fay Rose Cora Deem Lizzie Earnest Rosa Gahimer and many others. Mr and Mrs Charles Walker and family from French Lick joined weekend festivities.

The Rural Carriers of the 6th District held their Annual Convention at Connersville on Saturday May 21 with an afternoon session in Fayette county Court House and an evening session at Lionsville near Connersville. A banquet served 140 plates. Attendees from here included H. G. Henley Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pitts Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hill and daughter and Miss Pearle Coffin.
The Aid Society of the Fletcher M E Church will hold an all day meeting on Thursday June 2 at the home of Mrs Ella Nelson with Mrs Emma Ruby Mrs Nellie Rhodes and Mrs Opal Nelson assisting Dinner will be served for 25c Those attending include residents from Knightstown and surrounding areas Several social visits noted with relatives in Winchester Cincinnati and Knightstown and a base ball game in Cincinnati among the excerpts from the week’s notices

Mrs Flora Walker aged 68 widow of John Walker died Friday night at 9 30 at her son Clarence Walker s home in New Castle where she had lived recently. She was born in Shelby county daughter of Thomas Van Cleave and spent most of her life in Rush county. Survived by five children Emil Clarence Carl Nolan Frankfort and Leslie. Funeral at M E church Monday 10 with Rev. W S Rader officiating. interment Town cemetery.
Mrs Howard E Henley presided at the Women s Literary Circle guest day. A luncheon went before a program on Glacier National Park and Yellowstone Park by Mrs J M Stone and Mrs A W Winfield. New programs were distributed and the group adjourned to meet in October with Mrs W S Rader.
A preliminary roster lists James R. Behr as principal Bayard Baker in history Reginald Shultz in physics and commerce Alta Garfield Frances Addison and others as instructors. The grade 2 teacher is not yet selected Miss Luille Hig from Muncie a Earlham graduate joins the staff Clyde R. Bair already serves as principal at Mays.
Saturday Poppy Day proceeds benefit the relief fund aiding disabled former service members and their dependents without regard to color creed nationality or affiliation. Mrs Anna Sipe leads the event with girls on the streets ready to serve the public.
The administrator of the estate of Mary B. Coffin filed for final settlement in Rush Circuit Court Rushville Indiana. Citizens interested must appear June 15 1932 to show cause why the account should not be approved and to prove heirs or claims to the estate. Attest Charles L Newhouse Clerk Howard E Henley.
Mrs. Bel Edwards and Mr. Bel Edwards announce the birth of their son Philip Lee on May 11. Mrs. Rice C Hill returned Tuesday from Anderson after visiting her daughter Mrs. Marbel Edwards and her family.
Funeral services for Harry E. Stager were held Monday afternoon at 2:15 led by Rev. W. S. Rader. Miss Helen Overman sang two solos, with Mrs. A. J. Carr at piano. Interment followed in Friends Cemetery in Carthage. Stager, born November 25, 1862 in Jonestown Pa, lived in Carthage about 45 years and served as secretary of Carthage Gas Co. He leaves a widow Sarah Gear and three children, Ehrman Lowell (died in infancy), Iris Stager Blacklidge, and Henry Gear Stager, plus two grandchildren and several relatives.
