New York Central May Stop Trains Through Carthage

The New York Central Big Four branch line from Anderson to Louisville seeks to discontinue two passenger trains serving Carthage after reporting 191 year revenue of 36 625 and operating costs of 88 922 excluding overhead. A Public Service Commission petition meeting is planned. Baltimore and Ohio also seeks to drop two trains, leaving Rush county without passenger service. mail service may replace it with government contracted haulers.
