East St Christian Church Notes on Mother's Day Service
The pastor delivered a fine sermon at the Sunday service and a Mother's Day program featured solos by Mrs J A Walter North Vernon Helen Siler and a quartet with Mrs T Benton Henley Mrs Henry Jessup R L Hamilton and Van Hood plus orchestra. A Ladies Aid market netted .20 and the third Quarterly Conference is set for May 15 with Dr W W Tevis presiding. Sacramental services are planned next Sunday morning with Dr Tevis in charge. A Peace service will be held Sunday evening at 7 30 as peace societies urge prayer for an end to war. A parade of Motherhood drew a good crowd. An error in last week's Citizen misdated the parcel sale at the Gas Office by the E L B O W. the correct date is this Saturday May 15. Mother's Day was observed in the Sunday School Primary with songs and recitations and honored mothers as guests. The Foreign Missionary Society meets next Wednesday afternoon with Mes Anakopi Eunice H Publow Elizabeth J Hill and Lillian Moore on the program. Members should notify Ella J Coffin to arrange conveyance to Mrs Morris's home.

The town of Wepace Indiana enacts curfew restricting anyone under fifteen from streets and public places from 8 pm April 1 to 7 pm October 1 and 7 pm October 1 to 8 pm April 1. Violators face fines from 50 cents to 5 dollars and possible 2 to 24 hours confinement by the marshal.

Baccalaureate Sermon At East St Christian Church
An immense Sunday crowd heard Rev. D. E. Hanna of Indianapolis deliver a sermon praised as among the best. Fletcher M. E. Church was filled early with many unable to gain admission as the class colors appeared in American flags and floral arrangements. The Girls' Glee Club sang with Miss Wilkin at the piano, and Rev. J. Edgar Williams gave the benediction.

Juniors Host Banquet For Seniors And Faculty At Carthage Hotel
The Juniors entertained the Seniors and Faculty with a three course banquet at the Carthage Hotel on Monday evening. Decorations featured class colors and canoes with red roses as centerpieces. Toasts were given by the Juniors and R M Ratliff spoke. Miss Harriett Rawls attended as a guest and played piano. A after dinner, the group moved to Jesse Henley’s home for a musical program.
