Spiceland Banker John Haskett Ends Life in Indianapolis
John C. Haskett a 46 year old Spiceland banker died by suicide at a downtown Indianapolis hotel last Saturday. Born in Straughn he moved to Spiceland sixteen years ago and joined the Masonic order and Knights of Pythias. Survivors include son Lyle Haskett of Spiceland and two daughters Melba Powell of Columbus Ohio and Eve Louise Haskett of Columbus living with their mother, his divorced wife, and his mother Izora Haskett of Melbourne Florida.
