The Rush County Rural Electric Membership Corporation held its ninth annual meeting at Princess Theatre. Henry McCullough Dies Monday Night at 81
Henry McCullough 81, retired Carthage drayman and colored Odd Fellows member, died Monday night after months of ill health. Born January 11, 1865, in Hayesville Ohio, he moved to Carthage in 1888 and served as a horse and wagon hauler for local merchants for 43 years. Survivors include a son Frank and sister Sallie Hoffman. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Thompson funeral home with burial in Riverside cemetery.

Drivers Warned About 1945 Licenses Enforcement
Col. Austin R. Killian state police chief warned that drivers and vehicles with 1945 licenses after midnight February 28 face arrest. Ten posts received arrest orders, and troopers will check licenses starting March 1. He noted licenses went on sale January 3 with eight weeks for renewal and stressed no extension allowed. Foreign licenses are recognized only for 60 days in Indiana before Indiana credentials are required.

Knightstown Man Killed in Auto Crash Near Harrison
John Hickman aged 50 a Knightstown area poultry farm operator and former printer died in a head on collision with a truck two miles west of Harrison Ohio. State trooper Herbert Behlmer said Hickman likely fell asleep at the wheel. Ernest R Pogue 36 of Indianapolis the truck driver was uninjured. Hickman survived by his widow Flo and five brothers with ties to Lewisville New Castle and Muncie. He belonged to the Lewisville Masonic lodge and had lived in Knightstown since 1939.
