The Imperial Council of the Masonic lodge will hold its national convention in Detroit Michigan from Sunday June 20 to Thursday June 24. A special train for about 400 men will depart Indianapolis Sunday morning at 9 00 over the Big 4 route. Officials expect 180000 to 200000 attendees and note accommodations will be scarce, with some guests sent across the river into Canada.
Container Corporation of Rush County and International Furn iture Co. played 13 innings to a 4-4 tie after a 6 o'clock ruling ended the game. Internationals Davis homered, Whitfield added a locals’ homer. both pitchers fanned 19. Standings may be decided by percentage points, game to be scheduled or struck from calendar.

Various relatives and neighbors from Terre Haute Greenfield Anderson New Castle and Wanamaker are noted in visit reports and travel to Indianapolis Hanover College Norfolk and Greenfield.
Open season began at midnight with thousands of Indiana anglers hitting lakes and rivers. Local fishermen Roll Risk Samuel Newsom Roy Herkless Sam McCarty Don Mann John Moore Lindley Taylor among early responders while Virgil M Simmons urged licenses, land permissions, and adherence to limits to protect future seasons.
In circuit court the Stout family of Manilla seeks 15000 in damages for young Robert Lee Stout from defendant Carl A Kuhn. They allege reckless handling of a vehicle, caused by a collision on August 17 1936, with Kuhn’s car lacking proper brakes.

The annual closing meeting of the Masonic lodge drew fifty two members and guests from Indianapolis and Milroy. Refreshments were served and a general good time noted. Members will vacation until September.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry O. Pitts with Miss Winona Newsom and Miss Pearle Coffin left Wednesday at 4 o clock for a ten day to two week trip. They will breakfast in Madison join Pineville Kentucky then Ashville North Carolina for the Rhododendron Festival June 14 to 18 and travel through the Smoky Mountains to Mebane North Carolina visiting relatives while the two girls sight see in Randolph and Guilford counties.
The Father-Son banquet was well attended at the Christian church on Friday night. Harold Ruby served as toastmaster as Milton Gardner and sons provided entertainment. Seventy five people enjoyed a delicious meal together.
The Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority will hold a social meeting Tuesday night at the home of Mrs Ray mond Kennedy. The event invites members and confirms the venue for the gathering.
Mrs Sylvia Shields of Champaign Illinois visits with Mr and Mrs C G Hill. She was a resident here about forty five years ago and is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Wetherald.
Mr and Mrs James R Behr and Rosemary attended the final exercises of the public speaking class to which Mr Behr belonged on Friday evening in Tadislanolis. A banquet followed at the YMCA where Dr W P Deering president of Oakland City College gave a noteworthy address to about 110 members present.
Howard Ewbank announces the Rush County rodeo schedule at South Main Street Ball Park July 5 with only Rush County residents eligible to compete. Events run from 1:00 PM with goat roping to 4:30 PM cowhide race, followed by an athletic show at night including boxing wrestling and a colored-battle royal with a $20 prize. Proceeds fund fall livestock show and 4-H club exhibits.
The Senate judiciary committee urged rejection of the Roosevelt court reform measure in sharp terms. They warned it would centralize power and undermine judicial independence, arguing it would let an executive direct judges nationwide, eroding the three-branch system.
