Death of Mrs Baker passes at home in Pendleton
Mrs Mary Taylor Baker aged 84 died at her Pendleton home Sunday at 1am after a several year illness that worsened on Thursday. She leaves son Bayard Baker a local school teacher and three brothers Joseph Taylor of Anderson Jacob Taylor Pendleton and Milton Taylor Fortville. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the residence.

Hail storm wreaks damage in Rushville area Tuesday morn
A heavy hail storm across Rush county on Tuesday morning damaged greenhouses near Rushville and a large barn near Gings was destroyed by lightning. Knightstown saw minor injuries, while many homes suffered window damage and thousands of dollars in losses from broken glass. An electrical storm caused about 3500 in damage to Will McMillin farm structures northeast of Gings. No hail insurance carried by Rushville residents or greenhouses.

Henley hill road project begins to reshape county route
Road crews remove about 5500 feet of dirt and lower the hill by six feet to widen and regrade Henley hill south of town.
