Forrest J. Kennedy leases the west room of the J. O. Addison store in Knightstown and plans to move his cafe there by July 1. He has operated in Carthage for eleven years with a soda fountain ice cream parlor and restaurant, and the move is said to benefit both communities.
Mrs H Oran Henley hosted a kitchen shower Tuesday afternoon for Miss Edna Crockett of Knightstown as she prepares to wed Mr Herbert Haven of Chicago on Tuesday. Guests included Mesdames Bel Smith Baxter Bales Steele and Douglas, and Misses Weaver Stewart Montieue McKee Wagoner Bender Harris and the honoree. Decorations in red and white featured a luncheon setting. aluminum gifts were given to the bride-to-be.
Miss Leona Whitaker was the guest of Frank Jessup and family last week. Squire J. W. Bishop returned from Urbana Ohio. Morris M. White and others of Earlham College trustees met in annual session at the Bank of Carthage and were guests at luncheon.
After thirty three years on the Carthage School Board Bundy steps down as trustee with two short interruptions. He helped add to the old building expand facilities and push for manual training and domestic science though those programs have not yet materialized. He aided establishing a sanitary water plant at the High School. Bundy expresses confidence in his successor Howard E Henley and the coming year holds promise.
At the N. O. O. F. Lodge meeting, William Junken of Knightstown and E. T. Coffin received Sovereign Grand Lodge veteran buttons for 47 and 43 years of membership. R. E. Henley presented the honors and noted the 25 year threshold with annual increments.
J S Pitts recalls a plentiful strawberry crop this season while Carl Hackleman remains in critical condition after a prolonged illness from mumps at Purdue University.

Hamilton of Greenfield and Mrs Samuel Craig of Noblesville stay with Mr and Mrs John Duty. Raymond Shultz and family visit from Knightstown. Roscoe Thomas delivers Baccalaureate sermon at M. E. Church. Luther Presnall returns from Rockville Sanitarium improved. Albert Williams spends Wednesday in Indianapolis. Mrs Edward Francis dies suddenly from epilepsy. Rev Mearle Willson entertained at Faughn Addison’s home. Rev B F Hutchins dies in Maxwell. pastor of Friends Church at Maxwell and Wilkison. loved by all. Emory Fort and family visit from Indianapolis. Charles Leamon transacts business in Greenfield. Wm Beeson and wife visit Albert Williams. Samuel Strode of Manilla on business. John Lane and wife visit daughter Anna at East Haven near Richmond.
