Edmund E. Hauk Dies at 75 in Morristown
Edmund E. Hauk 75 died Saturday morning at his Morristown home after a complication of diseases. Born September 4, 1865 in Shelby County he lived in the Morristown area his whole life. He married Alfreta Blummer in 1886 and had ten children seven surviving. Surviving are Will L V Glen Herbert Orif Fern Rinker Ira Campbell and Mary Leis Brewer his second wife. Funeral services were held at the L W Hauk funeral home with Rev. T E Walker officiating. Burial in Ashbury cemetery.

New Bridge Contract Let For Carthage-Knights Town Road
After months of delays a new three mile bridge project on the Carthage Knights town road is set to begin. Wilbur C. Scherrer of Frankfort Indiana won the bid at 6995.10. Construction will take about sixty days hindered by steel shortages from the defense program. Equipment is being readied and materials will arrive soon. The bridge will sit a few yards east and the creek will be dredged to reduce flood risk.

Vacation Bible School Program Closes With Sunday Program
The Vacation Bible school ends with a Sunday night program at Friends church at 7 30. The display in the front hall will show the two weeks work and demonstrate its purpose scope and value. Attendance averaged over sixty with sixty seven registered and sixteen staff for eighty three total participants.
