The Methodist Church Bible School opened Tuesday May 31 with 76 attendees and 79 present on Wednesday. A closing program for the public is planned at the church Sunday evening June 12 after the session ends next weekend.
Den No. 2 meets May 31 with a hike to Mr. Stinger's corner to view cabins and a totem pole. Mrs. Stinger shows hobby room. den mother Mrs. Lettie May and assistant Mrs. Virginia Whitfield join. Mike Back elected denner for June. meetings set at 3 PM at den mother's home all summer.
Miss Pam Hunt presents a dance revue Friday June 17 at 8 p.m. at the Community Center with guest entertainers.
Mrs Edna Kennedy Mrs Leone Mosier and Mrs Rachel King attended the district dinner meeting Wednesday night at the Masonic Hall Centerville Indiana.
Lee Patton, a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserve, returns home Saturday from two weeks of duty at the Naval Reserve Training Center in Kansas City Missouri. He received instruction in operating the Combat Information Center aboard naval ships.
Mr and Mrs Don McColley and sons Terry and Dale of Carthage and Mr and Mrs Dan McColley from near Moscow visited Mr and Mrs Stanley Cort and Mrs Marilyn Mc Colley and family at Sanburn New York and Niagara Falls from Friday until Tuesday.
Diana Whitfield daughter of Mr and Mrs James Whitfield will have a tonsillectomy this Friday at Rush Memorial Hospital. Lewis Henderson has returned home from Rush Memorial Hospital after several weeks stay and is slowly improving.
The Daily Vacation Bible School at Hannegan Christian Church runs June 6 through 19 with daily sessions 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Five classes cover all ages and community children are welcome. A closing program is scheduled for June 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Elmer Hall and son of Homer joined Memorial Day dinner with McCorkle and Davis families. Keith Davis and children from Boston Indiana visited Mrs Elmina Parish.
Howard E. Woodmansee 85 a retired road contractor and longtime Masonry figure died Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter Mrs Russell Leisure Rush County. Cerebral thrombosis was the cause per Dr Charles E Sheets coroner. He spent 15 years in Rush County and much of his life in Shelbyville building highways in Indiana and Illinois. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist Shelbyville and held high offices in Masonic orders. He was born March 7 1875 in Brownstown. survived by a son Paul G Woodmansee and three daughters plus siblings and grandchildren. Christian Science services were held in Shelbyville burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Rush County students figure among 4182 in Indiana University's 1960 graduating class. The 131st commencement at Memorial Stadium begins Monday at 10 a.m. with rain contingency in the Field House. Baccalaureate services precede at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Arthur L. Miller will speak.
The Rush County Former Purdue Student group plans a Sunday evening gathering at 6 30 p m on June 19 at the Ewbank home in Union Township. Robert White heads the committee and a program of entertainment is planned while members provide the strawberries and cake for the event for former Purdue Students and their families.

Sgt. Donald H. Dickerson of Clarksville Tennessee earned parachutist wings from the 101st Airborne Division Jump School at Fort Campbell Kentucky after three weeks of ground and aerial training and five jumps. He is 28, a 1951 Mays Indiana High School graduate, and previously worked for General Motors Allison Division in Indianapolis. His wife Ruth Ann resides on Route 5 in Clarksville and his parents live on Route 7 in Rushville Indiana.
Lewis Lafuse and Stanley Boyer lead a Rural-Urban committee planning an overnight bus tour August 25 26 visiting seven or eight hog and cattle farms with Purdue plans and Paul Mitchell to assist. A September 14 business tour near Rushville invites local businessmen. John Spuller to Versailles Camp for forestry training aided by Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen's Association and Purdue experts with E J Lott coordinating the state Extension program.

Main event features Dick the Bruiser versus Joe Blanchard with two women’s bouts and a semi final Juan Sebastian versus Dick Steinborn. Tickets from local officials and Jordan Cleaners.

Merchants in Carthage vote to discontinue the Saturday night give-aways sponsored by the Carthage Better Business Association. The decision ends the present contests though several future projects are being discussed for upcoming months by the association.
In Greensburg Indiana a two vehicle collision on State Road 3 damaged three cars at 1 15 a m Thursday. Gilbert P Decker 49 Batesville drove south and struck a north bound semi trailer truck driven by Donald A Slocum 27 Conklin Michigan. A third car driven by Ernest N Gordon Mays was also damaged when wreckage struck its windshield. Decker was cited for driving to the left of the middle of the highway. Estimated damage 1700 with Decker's auto at 900 the semi trailer 700 and Gordon's windshield 100.
The 4H Personality Improvement project ends with a 8:00 p.m. meeting at the Court House next Thursday on Mind Your Manners with all members invited to present.
