John J. Coffin cut thirty acres of alsuke last week. Mrs Ruth Darrow of Noblesville spends the summer with Mr and Mrs H H Foust. Sunday guests of Cassius Gray and family include Rev Perry Bantz and family Eldon Outland and family Halcyon and David Hastings Lois Peacock and Almeta Lewis of Charlotteville Miss Bertha Kutsch of Indianapolis Mr and Mrs John Gray of Acton and Miss Pratha Seeley. Mrs Mills of Elwood Mr and Mrs Thomas Ball of Summitville and Mr and Mrs J Blaine Addison of Knightstown spent Sunday with John W Addison and family. Mrs C F Kyser of Indianapolis has been visiting her sister Mrs Ernest Heims and family.
Roy Maggart and family relocate to Indianapolis with Maggart serving as night superintendent at the paper mill. Russell White of Owosso Mich visits Harve Jessup and others in Gas City. Scarlet fever affects families of Thomas Dillon and a Mr Kraft in the mill addition. George W. Savage, mill superintendent, buys the Earl Herkless property by S Main Street and will move in within two months. Mr Herkless buys J F Tweedy property on N Walnut Street, now occupied by Howard E Henley and family.
A Saturday pledge event for Savings Stamps featured Judge M Sparks of Rushville and Ian Downey of the Commercial National Bank in Indianapolis. The Arlington Band performed as Sipley township aims for a $36,000 quota. by 9 am Wednesday the total stood at $30,000 and Anderson Township had over $40,000 toward a $32,000 goal. Mrs Jane Leisure and Willy Walker each subscribed $1,000.
H E Barnard federal fund administrator for Indiana cautions against rushing wheat to market as prices will be fixed and producers should not anticipate advances. Limited transportation delays movement to consuming markets for months. Proposals urge stacking stored wheat and awaiting market receipt with loans from banks via the Federal Reserve to farmers storing grain.
Morristown mourns as Sergeant Willard E. Hensley of the United States Marine Corps is confirmed killed in action between June 6 and 8. A Morristown High School and Purdue alumnus, Hensley enlisted in 1917 and rose to sergeant in 1919. He was 23, engaged to Eva Talbert, with a local flag mourning across Main Street.
John K. Gowdy 71 died June 25 at his Rushville home. A Civil War veteran and longtime Republican leader he served as Consul General to Paris from 1897 for over eight years under President McKinley. He is survived by his widow and daughter Mrs Robert Mansfield.
Frances Lloyd Addison aged 1 year 2 months 15 days died Sunday evening after a short illness at Earl Addison's home. Acute indigestion listed as the cause. Funeral held Tuesday at 2 PM at Earl Addison's home with Rev. F C Lebert and Rev. H T Hawkins officiating. Mona Norris and Everard Johnson sang. Burial in Walnut Ridge cemetery.
Word was received today of the death of Mrs J C Cox. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p m at Hopewell church with Mr and Mrs C V Gause to attend.

No call yet for colored men in this quota.
A 73 year old woman identified as Mrs Beach and a girl from the S O Home were thrown from a rig when a horse frightened by an automobile east of Six Mile bridge. Mrs Beach suffered a fractured collar bone and internal injuries but not believed serious. she was moved to the Lacy farm and returned home on Wednesday.
Miss Helen Gause departed Saturday to begin a three months course of study at Chicago University, marking the start of her extended academic engagement.
