Rev W S Rader was away for a family death causing last Sundays Union Services to be postponed. The service still drew strong attendance with the Friends church pastor delivering the sermon. Next Sunday the towns churches plan a Union Service at the Christian church with Rev Griffin speaking. The Women’s Missionary Society met with Mrs Jesse Healey. State Pastor's Convocation convened in Indianapolis with Mr and Mrs Nathan Pickett attending. School notes report the Carthage Bluebirds will travel to the County Tournament with play beginning Friday night. The Junior Class also thanks those who attended Friday night's performance. Born November 21, 1869 in Metamora Franklin County he married Leora Mathews and lived in Connersville Hancock County and on a farm near Carthage. Survived by widow daughter Mrs Denzel Pea, five brothers Clarence Marcus James Jackson and others, three sisters Mrs Oliver McNutt, Mrs Chester Hawkins. funeral Wednesday 9:30 at his residence with Rev. George T. Fowler. interment Brookville Cemetery.

He lived in Connersville before farming near Carthage Rush County and was a Christian church member and I O O F and Redmen lodge member. Jonathan J. Coffin a farmer aged about 80 died at his home west of here Tuesday night after five weeks of illness with Cropsey named as the cause. Born August 1852 in Shelby county he lived most of his life in Rush county. Survived by sister Louisa. He belonged to Walnut Ridge Friends church. Funeral Thursday afternoon at the residence. interment in church cemetery with Rev. Mr. Young of Shirley officiating.
