Mrs. Paul E. Carmack heads the Rushville Psi Iota Xi chapter aiding Indiana University Traveling Speech and Hearing Clinic in its second year. Dr. Milisen reports 849 school children examined this year with 666 new cases and 183 previously examined, and 19 250 hearing tests conducted. The clinic, funded by Psi Iota Xi and IU extension, has reached 15 counties and will cover 12 more. Six percent of children have hearing defects. The staff includes Dr. Milisen, Dr. Gardner, Miss Roe, Francis Sonday, and Miss Woods. Reexamined hearing cases show more improvement in children who see physicians.

County Group Proposes Bridge Plan for Rushville Area

Wind Sunday Causes Damage to Utility Lines near Homer
A 60 mph wind Sunday morning damaged electric and telephone lines south of Arlington in Homer. About 30 poles fell along the R E M C lines west and south of Homer, with farm outbuildings and a door torn at the Francis Houston property. Minor losses were reported for Carthage, as the storm missed that center.

Clarkson Gause Dies Thursday
Dr. Clarkson C. Gause aged 90 died at his South Walnut street home last Thursday night at 11 30 after a long illness. Born December 20 1849 in Wayne county Indiana he taught school before turning to veterinary work gaining wide repute as Doc Gause. Survived by one brother Joseph C Gause one granddaughter Mary Ann Kullmer three nephews and a son in law George Kullmer Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 30 pm at his residence with Rev Homer Biddlecum officiating and interment in New Castle
