Ruth Parish Snyder died in a Norfolk Virginia hospital Friday after a heart attack following admission for observation. Born 1897 in Carthage to William and Margaret Parish, she married Harry Snyder in 1916. Survived by husband, daughter Betty Mace and a granddaughter in Norfolk, mother Mrs. Charles O. White of Carthage, sister Florence Bringer of St. Louis, and brother Russell Parish of Carthage. Funeral at Thompson Funeral Home Monday officiated by Rev. Samuel M. Riggle with burial in Arlington cemetery.

Carthage high school hosts a Saturday blind tournament in the Carthage gym featuring Raiders Knights Town Mt Comfort and New Salem. Games start 2 PM with a 3 PM second game and a 8 PM championship after noon losers meet at 7 PM. Admission 30 and 35 cents. Raiders record nine and two with 408 points to 301. Mt Comfort nine and one. Knightstown six and three. New Salem four and five. Coached by Charlie Morris the Raiders urge local support.
