Former Local Resident Unhurt In Fiery Crash
William E. Henderson of Rushville and former Carthage resident was uninjured when the gasoline laden semi he operated left the highway in dense fog near Marion Indiana. The two 7,100 gallon tandem tanks ignited burning 300 feet of highway. Traffic was diverted while fire and repairs proceeded. Damages were estimated at 27000 dollars with all losses insured.

The Carthage Blue Raiders dropped two more games last week extending a four game skid. Morton Tigers prevailed 62-60 here Tuesday after a 62-54 loss to Stingers last Friday. Morton rode 18 of 25 free throws while Carthage hit 8 of 17. Ronnie Sullivan Richard Doughty and Mike Watkins led Carthage scoring with a 26-22 edge from the field, but the Raiders could not close the gap. Carthage Seconds won 38-30.

Walter Norris 71 longtime Noble Township resident and former Rush County official died at 10:50 p m Thursday at his home southeast of Rushville after months of ill health. Dalrymple, 70, Knightstown contractor, dies at New Castle
Russell B. Dalrymple, 70, contractor of R. R. Knightstown, died at Henry County Hospital New Castle at 1 a.m. Friday after a yearlong illness. A Dunreith native, he lived much of his life in Knightstown and held posts with the Indiana Pythian Corporation and Henry County Planning Commission. He was a member of the Friends Church, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Pythias, Pythian Sisters, and D.C.C.K. Survivors include his widow Charlotte, daughter Marietta DeBolt, mother Verna Dalrymple, brother Lawrence, stepdaughter Betty Brooks, and stepsons Virgil and Jesse Thomas.
