Chester E. Smelser of Rushville and Bessie Smith were married at noon on November 27 at the bride’s home. Rev. C N Willson officiated with Rev. Oren Tillison assisting. Guests included family members from Blue Ridge and Rushville. the couple left for Rushville to stay with the groom’s parents for the holidays. The bride, a Carthage High School graduate active in Fletcher M E Church, and the groom, a local jeweler, were feted at a reception and turkey dinner Thursday.

Spelling Bee Honors At Beech Valley School
