Mrs. Ellen Nigh had an appendectomy last Thursday at Rush Memorial Hospital. Mike Butler, son of Mr and Mrs Claude Butler of near Raleigh formerly of Carthage, cut both thumbs badly while playing Sunday. He fell into a glass jar while jumping a creek and was taken to Rush Memorial Hospital with one thumb needing thirteen stitches and the other several, along with significant blood loss.
