Boy Suffers Eye Injury Near Knightstown

Lightning Kills Farmer Near Cleveland
Faris Woods 44 son of Claude and Laura Hill Wood of Wilkins on was killed by lightning Saturday evening while working on his farm north of Cleveland. His body was found Sunday morning. Survived by one son in Italy and three daughters. Funeral held Wednesday at Nameless Creek with interment at Glen Cove in Knightstown. Mrs Woods known locally as the deceased’s mother.

Donald Stoten Jr of Ripley township won the $500 Aberdeen Angus Breeders scholarship at Rush County Fair. Martha Stoner received a purebred Berkshire boar award. Tax Refunds Being Made in Indiana District
Wil H. Smith, Collector of Internal Revenue, said refunds for 1943 returns are being mailed at about 10,000 per week in the Indiana district.
